IFSI History
The International Forum for Social Innovation (IFSI) has given itself the task of facilitating social innovation and thus of contributing to the institutional transformation of organisations :public or private companies, public administration, associations, teaching or educational institutions, whether religious or secular…
In that way, IFSI continues the Group Relations tradition set, amongst others, by W.R. Bion, Isabelle Menzies , A.K. Rice and P. Turquet . However, it adds to the Open Systems and the psychoanalytical theories the societal dimension and the approach known as Institutional Transformation (IT), fruit of its work with economic, political and social milieus.
Every year since 1978, the International Forum for Social Innovation (IFSI) organizes in France an annual international working conference on the theme of Authority, Leadership and Transformation: this one will become, this year, the TransformaCtion ® Conference . Similarly, over many years, it has been developing and running conferences abroad, in partnership with universities or other organisations, on identical and complementary themes.
In parallel, it has been running, in partnership with the Business School , University of Glamorgan , a training programme for consultants and managers: Leading Consultation (Research Diploma, M. Phil, Ph.D.).
Finally, it has created, in January 2004, a new international annual conference on the themes of Femininity, Leadership, Authority and Masculinity: the F.L.A.M. Conference

Le Forum International de l’Innovation Sociale (F.I.I.S.) s’est donné comme vocation de favoriser l’innovation sociale et de contribuer ainsi à la transformation institutionnelle des organisations : entreprises privées ou publiques, administrations, associations, structures d’enseignement, de santé, laïques ou religieuses...
En cela, le F.I.I.S. prolonge la tradition de l’Ecole des Relations de Groupe portée notamment par Wilfred R. Bion, Isabelle Menzies, A. Kenneth Rice et Pierre Turquet. Cependant, il ajoute, à la théorie psychanalytique et à celle des systèmes ouverts, la dimension sociétale et l’approche dite de la transformation institutionnelle (TI), fruit de son travail dans les milieux politiques, économiques et sociaux.
Chaque année depuis 1978, le F.I.I.S. organise en France un séminaire annuel international sur le thème de l’autorité, du leadership et de la transformation : celui-ci devient cette année le séminaire Transformaction ® . Egalement depuis de nombreuses années, il développe et conduit des séminaires à l’étranger, en partenariat avec des universités ou d’autres associations, sur des thèmes identiques et complémentaires.
Conjointement, il mène depuis 2001 avec la Business School de l’Université de Glamorgan, puis celle de l’Université de Hull (Royaume Uni), un programme de formation pour managers et consultants : Leading Consultation (M.Phil., Ph.D.).
Enfin, il a créé et renouvelé, depuis janvier 2004, un nouveau séminaire international annuel sur le thème de la féminité, du leadership, de l’autorité et de la masculinité : le séminaire F.L.A.M..
